As has been said the closer you get to the finish line the greater the desire to quit and so: -

Much time had elapsed and it felt like Adam was just getting older, so much older. In the final moments of twilight before dawn, Adam started to lose his mind and was about to give up on his quest for Eve. Once again riddled with doubt and uncertainty about his destiny. He asked himself “what if it turns out there is no other? How can I presume when there is so much at stake?”

Adam: - It was like trying to swim to a shore that moved further away the harder I tried to reach its safety. I couldn’t swim no more and what good was it doing me anyway?

Adam was completely disillusioned with life and full of self-loathing, Satan taunted him and tested to see if he was made for this: -

You were strung along by her song, a message you received and got so wrong, silly to think you could ever belong

Never destined to be together, now that idea from your mind it is wise to sever, it is time to untether

Love is a fable, not even a course let alone on the table, a fool’s dream which reveals someone is unhinged at the seams.

Conflicted, confused, disheartened and suicidal, Adam was on the brink of ending it all -

Adam leapt into a deep body of water when suddenly his foot got trapped, as he was struggling to get free he could feel his life force rapidly leaving. On the brink of drowning, he found himself leaving his body in his spirit form and travelling down a tunnel which was spinning around him. He could see at the far end a shining and pulsing light and instinctively he knew that this was his destination. He had been here before many many times. As he approached the light, he became enveloped by it. A feeling of pure love and bliss washed over him. He had no wants, needs or desires, he was in nirvana.

Unsure how long he had been there, the form of an Egyptian pharaoh appeared opposite him who was beautifully adorned in his regal attire. He was glowing with golden light, and his eyes were completely mesmerising. Telepathically the pharaoh spoke to Adam and said: -

'I am Amenhotep, and I am your spirit guide. I have come to you in this form because the last life we were here together on Earth was in ancient Egypt. What we started then, you have to come to finish now. Although I’m not physically here with you anymore, I am always by your side as your guide. I will help you in ways you will not even be fully aware of, the more we are attuned the greater the synchronicity will be in your life. I have been with you since you were in your mother’s womb.

You have a choice; I know you have been giving up on your life. I feel your pain, I can taste your misery, I see your immense suffering. If you wish you can stay here with me, this is paradise, all your worries will be long gone. You will be reunited with all your loved ones. But it will mean leaving Eve and abandoning your destiny. She will understand of course and when the time comes you will be back together. But the oath you made will be broken.

Or you can go back, and transmute your suffering and use it to help transform the world. You can return and hold your head up high as you walk through hell with a smile. You can fulfil the oath you took when this began and win the heart of Eve in this lifetime and complete the golden quest. If you stand up and capture yourself in darkness she will notice your courage. It is time to capture the moment, and not let it slip.

Adam didn’t need to think about it; he knew exactly what he had to do. He lovingly embraced Amenhotep and thanked him for his support and trusted guidance. As quickly as Adam could think it, suddenly he was back in the water and with one last almighty tug, he pulled his foot free and made his way to the water’s surface. He swam to the water’s edge and clambered out, so close to death yet he had never felt so alive.

He heard these words and knew in his heart that he must go on and cast away his deepest fears: -

'So now I know what I have to do. I have to keep breathing. And tomorrow the sun will rise, and who knows what the tide will bring in.'
